WHAT MATERIALS ARE YOUR T-SHIRTS MADE OF?

All of our t-shirts are 100% recycled poly-cotton blends. The cotton comes from scraps of fabric remaining after the cutting process and plastic water bottles that have been recycled.

WHERE DO THE RECYCLED PLASTIC BOTTLES COME FROM?

We use recycled PET (polyethylene terephthalate), consisting of plastic from water bottles and other clear plastic bottles that have been recycled.

WHERE DO THE RECYCLED FABRIC COME FROM?

In the fashion industry garments are cut from layers and layers of fabric at once. This creates a lot of pre-consumer waste, but we have found a way to take these scraps of fabric and turn them into usable 100% recycled yards.

ARE THE RECYCLED FABRIC SCRAPS DEADSTOCK?

No, we use fabric scraps leftover fabric from production cutting. These are then shredded into fine fibers and spun into yarns. The yards are then knitted into fresh, new fabric.

WHERE DO YOU MANUFACTURE?

Our t-shirts are ethically manufactured in sweatshop-free factories in Tirupur, India.

ARE YOUR GRAPHICS PRINTED USING WATER-BASED ECO-FRIENDLY INKS?

At Premium Recycled Threads, we take great pride in the quality of our screenprinting. Some of the techniques used can only be properly achieved with standard water-based inks. Currently, we are using industry-standard inks to print our graphics, however we are always looking for ways to be improve and be more eco-friendly.

ARE ALL YOUR T-SHIRTS MADE FROM A RECYCLED COTTON-POLY BLEND? I'M TRYING TO AVOID POLYESTER DUE TO THE MICROPLASTICS.

Yes, all of our t-shirts are made of a cotton-poly blend. However, the polyester we use is made of plastic bottles that could have ended up in a landfill.

WHAT DO YOU PACKAGE YOUR PRODUCTS IN?

Our tees are shipped in 100% biodegradable mailers. We encourage you to dispose these mailers properly in a landfill, where they will eventually break down and biodegrade.

IS THE ENTIRE MANUFACTURING PROCESS ECO-FRIENDLY?

Our fabrics are made from 100% recycled materials and our fabric dying process is eco-friendly. At this time, some parts of our manufacturing process are still following the industry standard. At Premium Recycled Threads, we are always looking for ways to do better for our planet, and strive to have a manufacturing process that is 100% eco-friendly from start to finish.

HOW IS WASTE WATER HANDLED IN THE FABRIC DYING AND SCREENPRINTING PROCESS?

Our t-shirts are manufactured in Tirupur, India; where more than 90% of India’s cotton knits garments are created. India’s Council on Energy, Environment & Water (CEEW) has done an amazing job at cleaning up the water usage, purification and disposal process for the apparel manufacturing industry there. We only work with factories that strictly follow the water management guidelines set by the CEEW.
